VISION AS HUMAN RIGHTS CITY / TERRITORY

The role of local governments in promoting and protecting human rights is essential for developing social policies that provide new opportunities for citizens.

Having a global vision of human rights, adapted to local challenges and priorities through their inclusion in the local agenda, allows for the social transformation of the municipality. This transformation involves being aware of the citizens' needs in such relevant areas as healthcare, employment, education, urban accessibility, the digital divide, social justice... and thus improving people's quality of life.

Human rights as a framework for action guide the work of local governments and help establish a roadmap where no one is left behind. In addition, human rights principles guide efforts towards good governance in terms of budgets, programs, or actions to be approved.

MOTIVATIONS TO JOIN THE CAMPAIGN

Our interest in joining the campaign comes from our Town Council's commitment to promoting Human Rights and the Sustainable Development Goals. All actions carried out in the municipality are developed under the framework of the 2030 Agenda. Without a doubt, it is a campaign that perfectly aligns with our municipal work and our way of building citizenship.
