The global movement for human rights at the local level continues to grow. As the fourth wave of the Global Campaign “10, 100, 1,000 Human Rights Cities and Territories by 2030” comes to an end, we are excited to share that 21 new local and regional governments from different regions of the world have formally joined this collective effort to place human rights, dignity, inclusion and democratic participation at the heart of local governance.
Their engagement reflects the growing recognition that cities and territories play a crucial role in advancing human rights through public policies, services and participatory processes that improve people's everyday lives. By joining the campaign, these governments become part of a global community committed to exchanging experiences, promoting rights-based approaches, and contributing to the construction of more just, inclusive and sustainable societies.
