Global Platform for the Right to the City

The Global Platform for the Right to the City (GPR2C) is an international network of civil society’s organizations and Local Governments. It was created in Sao Paulo in 2014, with the aim to promote the right to the city at local and international levels, and to define a new, more inclusive and democratic paradigm of urban development. The platform facilitates dialogue, cooperation and coordination between its over 100 members, through political advocacy actions, research and training, and communication and raise-awareness actions, in order claim for the  recognition of the Right to the City and its implementation.

UCLG Committee on Social Inclusion, Participatory Democracy and Human Rights is a GPR2C founder member. It is especially active in the work of advocacy, aiming to include the right to the city into Habitat III New Global Habitat Agenda and to achieve more inclusive, democratic and sustainable cities for current and future generations.
