During the 2016 June-August period, the network of local and regional governments for fair, democratic and sustainable cities and territories has grown with the incorporation of new members from South America and the re-affirmation of previous commitments.
The new CSIPDHR local governments are the city of San Francisco de Milagro (Ecuador), the city of Pikine (Senegal) and the Association of Brazilian Cities. Additionally, just before the UCLG Congress and the Habitat III Conference (which both will attend), the government of Quito (Ecuador) and the city of Badalona (Catalonia, Spain) have reaffirmed their commitment with the network of cities defending human rights in the city and the right to the city that the Committee gathers.
