On its 7th edition, the WHRCF aims to pursue the exchange of experiences among cities committed to Human Rights around the world while strengthening the global alliance of Human Rights cities on the basis of Gwangju Guiding Principles for a Human Rights City (2011)In this year's edition, the Forum will be held under the theme “Do We Live in Peace? Human Rights cities, Democracy and Practice”, as a way to reaffirm the significance of democracy and peace for Human Rights cities. The Forum will therefore explore questions such as how to strengthen local and participatory democracy as a mechanism to guarantee Human Rights, taking into consideration local practices allowing citizens to co-create the city.
