Introduction

The UCLG Committee on Social Inclusion, Participatory Democracy and Human Rights is a network of local governments committed with the advance of human rights and the right to the city in worldwide cities and territories. In the framework of UCLG, it aspires to articulate a voice for the municipalist movement in terms of social inclusion, participatory democracy and human rights.

To that end, in the last ten years, it has promoted political debates between worldwide local authorities on policies related to social inclusion, participatory democracy and human rights, resulting into a meaningful legacy linked to the values of municipalism and international solidarity.

Specific activities promoted by the Committee are varied and adapted to the priorities of its member-local governments. They might take place in the form of political advocacy and institutional relations, organization of international seminars and fora, monitoring, publication of reports, learning...
