Our work

Our Committee brings together local governments from across the world committed to the advance human rights and the right to the city. In the framework of UCLG, it aspires to articulate the common voice of the global network of local governments on social inclusion, participatory democracy and human rights.

Throughout the last years, the course of action of our Committee has diversified; from its initial focus on local practices of social inclusion and participatory democracy, to a cross-cutting approach based on human rights and the right to the city. On the basis of these agendas, interested local governments are able to deepen international discussions about issues such as the right to housing, spatial justice and metropolization, migrations and non-discrimination or the right to peace.
